The Governo is cultivated by Linda and Tino Rossetti in the third generation.
The winery is located near Florence in the middle of Tuscany. They produce traditional Tuscan wines with a modern taste profile, whereby they attach great importance to fruitiness and freshness.
In the traditional Governo method, 10% of the grapes are dried and only added to the young wine for the second fermentation. The wine matures for five months in wooden barrels before being bottled.
In terms of taste, the wine is characterised by its acidity and spicy nature as well as the soft mouthfeel.
The tannins stand out strongly and aromas of vanilla, blackberries and cherries can be perceived.
The Sangiovese provides notes of fresh forest soil and smoke.
The Governo goes particularly well with grilled meat, hearty pasta and stews.
