The grapes of Vinya Nostra Negre grow in sunny Catalonia in certified organic cultivation at an altitude of 300m on calcareous sand and red clay. The vines are over 30 years old. Before winemaker Miquel Piquet of Roqueta allows the wine to rest in steel tanks for six weeks, the must is fermented on the mash for 16 days. Then he filters it and finally bottles it.
The young red wine is intensely aromatic, tasting of cherry and raspberry, which are accompanied by a spicy background. Ripe fruits like blackberry and black currant dominate on the palate. Due to its pleasant tannin structure, the red wine is balanced and elegant.
Vinya Nostra Negre goes well with meat dishes, grilled sausage, Mediterranean vegetables as well as stews of beef or lamb and dark roasts.
