The Calalenta Merlot Rosato comes from the province of Chieti in Abruzzo, east of Rome in Italy. High quality wine has been produced here since the 14th century. This already enjoyed a high reputation at that time. Farnese Vini is currently producing the wines. The focus in production is on the local grape varieties. International varieties are also cultivated. A good example of this is the Calalenta rosé wine, made entirely from Merlot grapes.
It appears in a very light, delicate pink, similar to an onion skin and smells very fruity and soft with notes of strawberries, watermelon or pink grapefruit. There are also hints of roses and gorse. In the mouth you can taste freshness with a youthful acidity and fruity aromas of red berries.
The rosé goes well with summer dishes and light starters such as grilled vegetables, pasta or soup at 10-12 ° C.
