The Rioja growing region
The wine is grown in the Cenicero region. This is one of the most prestigious wine regions of Rioja. Located on the Ebro River, the region consists of the sub-regions Rioja Oriental. Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta. The Tempranillo grape variety accounts for over 60% of the cultivated area. On the calcareous soils over 20000 winegrowers produce mostly red wines, but also rosé or white wines.
The taste of Rioja wine
The red wine with the intense, deep red color has a very fruity character. One can note a refreshing note of cherry and raspberry. The alcohol content is 13.5%.
The Tritium Winery
On soil rich in nutrients, the historically rich Bodega Tritium grows its wines. The winery is now in the 5th generation of the winemaking family. The bodega attaches great importance to the preservation of the natural environment of the vineyards. The wines are produced in a restored wine cellar. Through the use of native yeast and enzymes, very strong character and individual wines are produced.
The production of Cosecha Joven Tempranillo
For its intense flavor, the wine is aged for six months in oak barrels. These are made of French oak.
The grape variety Tempranillo
This grape variety is the most important red wine variety in Spain. The name means “small early” because the small grapes ripen very early. The first vines were planted by Spanish monks. The grape variety is a cross between Albillo Mayor and Benedicto. It gives rise to powerful wines with a fragrant – fruity character. They age best in wood.
