The Kohl winery has been family-owned since 1753 and has been an official winery with its own bottling since 1975.
The winery cultivate 9 hectares of vineyards – with the aim of finding the perfect harmony between weather and wine. That is why viticulture has been free of herbicides and artificial fertilizers for over 15 years! Since 2019, the company has been changing to fulfill the strict quality requirements of controlled, organic viticulture in order to meet the responsibility towards people and nature and to achieve even better wine quality!
The main grape varieties in the Kohl range include the classic, traditional Palatinate varieties such as Riesling, white, gray and pinot noir. Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay or noble sweet Muscat and Gewürztraminer complete the range.
In addition to traditional vinification in steel tanks, the winery also matures wooden barrel and barrique wines.
The wines of the winery are not without distinctions and were able to win several gold and silver medals at the international wine competition awc-vienna in 2020, for example!
