German wines from Rheinhessen
If you want to try good wine from Rheinhessen, Fritz Steitz from Weingut Steitz in Badenheim has just the thing for you. The family business cultivates its vines on different soils in eight individual layers in growing areas in Rheinhessen and on the Nahe.
The history of the winery
A family business that can be seen: The history of the Steitz family goes back to 1510. Originally the ancestors of Fritz Steitz came from Donnersberg, but the family now lives in the fifth generation in Badenheim in the west of Rheinhessen, where wonderful wines are grown and vinified.
The winery today
The winery always strives to combine the special characteristics of the growing areas in its wines. With a lot of patience, devotion and accuracy as well as the connection to the homeland, extraordinary wines of special quality are created at the Steitz winery. The underground of the vineyards and the wine climate on the Nahe and in the west of Hesse make the wine unmistakable and worth tasting thanks to the caring hand of the winemaker. The winery works symbiotically to refine the practices in the vineyard with the same dedication and attention to detail that we apply in the cellar.
Another important aspect for the Steitz family is sustainable viticulture. At every step of the viticulture and production, we think long-term and with a view to future generations. The result is an excellent wine experience.
Fritz Steitz regularly presents a selection of estate wines, lager wines, local wines or signature wines from the winery at our virtual wine tastings. The wine selection includes a large number of grape varieties and types of wine: red wines, white wines, rosé and much more!
