Description
The Morari Valpolicella from Torre d’Orti Winery
Just a few kilometers from Verona, in the picturesque Marcellise, the Valpolicella Ripasso is cultivated at the Torre d’Orti winery, which, along with La Prendina and Cavalchina, belongs to the Piona brothers. This wine represents a link between the traditional Valpolicella and the more intense Amarone, reflecting the centuries-old viticulture culture of the region. From grapes grown on the red soils typical for this area, a wine of special complexity and depth is created after careful manual harvesting and a special fermentation technique that includes the pomace of Amarone and Recioto.
Visually, the Valpolicella Ripasso is characterized by an intense color, while the bouquet reveals a plethora of fruity notes such as sour cherries, raspberries, and red currants, combined with spicy elements of spices and leather. This variety of aromas continues on the palate with a full body, soft tannins, and a long-lasting finish, making the wine warm and balanced.
Suitable Foods
The Valpolicella Ripasso is particularly suited for enjoyment with hearty meat dishes such as ragouts, stews, or a savory grilled T-bone steak, as well as with aged cheese.
