Wines from Rheinhessen from winery Mayor Adam Schmitt from Mommenheim
The special feature of the Mayor Adam Schmitt winery is that the company is based in Mommenheim, but the associated vineyards are spread across different communities and even growing areas.
This is due to owner Eckhard Höbel’s love of experimentation. Among other things, he manages the steepest vineyard in Rauenthaler Rothenberg in the Rheingau. The old vines and the barren soil produce a special wine.
Another location are the calcareous soils around Eppelsheim in Rheinhessen. Very special wines also grow here. The terroir trilogy is completed by the “Rotliegend” from the Neckheimer Rothenberg. This is where the typical mineral Rieslings of the Roter Hang are vinified.

Eckhard Höbel produces all wines ecologically according to the guidelines of the winegrowing association Ecovin. Furthermore, his wines have also been vegan products since 2014.
