German wines from Rhenish Hesse
In its fifth generation, the family business is cultivating its vines in Rhenish Hesse and near Bad Kreuznach an der Nahe. In addition to the classical vines such as Riesling and Silvaner, extravagant varieties are also cultivated on widely differing soils. Grape varieties such as St. Laurent and Muskateller are part of the eight individual parcels, which are given a distinctive taste by the dedication of the winery.
The history of the winery Fritz Steitz
A family business that dates back a long way: The history of the Steitz family goes back to the year 1510. Originally, the ancestors of Fritz Steitz came from the Donnersberg, however, the family now lives in Badenheim in the west of Rhenish Hesse in the fifth generation. Excellent wines have now been grown and vinified for more than 500 years.
The winery Fritz Steitz today
The winery fritz steitz always strives to refine the special characteristics of the growing areas in their wines. The subsoil of the vineyard and the microclimate in Rheinhessen and near Bad Kreuznach an der Nahe make the wines truly unique.
They get their special character from the nurturing hand of the winegrower. With a lot of patience, dedication and attention to detail, as well as the attachment to their home region, extraordinary wines of special quality are created at the Steitz winery.
An important aspect for the Steitz family is also sustainable viticulture. In doing so, every step of the viticulture and production is considered in the long term and with the future generations in mind. The result is an excellent wine experience.
