The Single Cask Huxel is a semi-sweet Beerenauslese suitable as an aperitif, which was used to flavor a whisky barrel.
Beerenauslese is a designation for a sweet dessert wine made from overripe, often botrytized, and handpicked grapes, giving it an extraordinary sweetness and concentration.

The winery Mayor Adam Schmitt in Mommenheim, Rheinhessen, is known for its variety of vineyards in different growing areas.
Owner Eckhard Höbel likes to experiment and manages among other things the steepest vineyard in the Rauenthaler Rothenberg in the Rheingau.
