The special natural wines from Georgia come from Raphael and Zoltan. They have one thing in common: the love for Georgia and the Georgian people, the music, the landscape and the food. Both are married to Georgian sisters and have been able to immerse themselves deeply in the country of origin of the wine with its hospitality and a story worth telling through many visits to Georgia.
It all started in the early 2000s when Soliko Tsaishvili turned his passion for wine into a profession and became a winemaker in Kakheti. However, since there were not enough funds for the 5.5 hectares of land he needed, he asked his long-time friend Gia Gokieli, Zoltan’s brother-in-law from Naturwein Georgia, if he wanted to invest in the vineyard. Mr. Tsaishvili became a recognized pioneer in the natural wine scene in Georgia and founded the Natural Wine Association of Georgia with 9 winemakers who view the vineyard as a whole biodynamic system and farm on that basis. These natural wines are produced without any additives and with spontaneous fermentation!
In the spring of 2017, Raphael and Zoltan had the idea to import the Georgian wine to Germany so that friends and family can also try the wonderful natural wine. Natural wine Georgia today sells over 40 natural wines from up to 20 winemakers who pay close attention to the environment and the landscape when growing the wine. Natural wine Georgia can present a very diverse and sophisticated taste spectrum for a curious target group.
The Georgian wines and spirits can also be found in many fashionable restaurants in Berlin today!
