Der Dorfladen was founded in 2012 by the Greek-German duo, consisting of Jordanis Pavlidis and Silke Kauer. The declared aim was to establish high quality Greek food here in Germany. It all stared with olive oil that was harvested in-house at the time.
Since it was founded, the product range has been constantly expanded due to the enormous demand. A logical step was the import of traditional, unique, top Greek wines.
Ultimately, it was decided to partner with the Arvanitidis winery.
The Arvanitidis winery is run by the brothers Thanasis and Giorgos. It is just under an hour’s drive Northeast of Thessaloniki in the picturesque village of Askos at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. A constant breeze blows up from Lake Koronia which creates optimal conditions for viticulture. The light wind ensures healthy plants and makes them less susceptible to disease. The wines are produced in their own small but full equipped winery.
These special production conditions create the unique taste of the Greek Arvanitidis wine.
