Chakana Nuna Rosé: An Argentine Gem with Tropical Allure

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of the Chakana Nuna Rosé, an exquisite wine from the year 2021 that makes every wine enthusiast’s heart beat faster. This rosé wine hails from the prestigious Chakana winery, nestled in the scenic region of Agrelo in Mendoza, Argentina. With an alcohol content of 13.0% Vol, this wine offers a refreshing yet robust experience.

The Chakana Nuna Rosé presents itself in a pale rose color, streaked with violet reflections, providing a fascinating spectacle in the glass alone. However, the true miracle of this wine reveals itself in its bouquet: the nose is seduced by aromas of tropical fruits, paired with nuances of cherries and strawberries, rounded off by a hint of spices.

The first sip reveals the refined flavors of this wine in all their glory: here, great volume combines with intensity and a dry note that will delight both connoisseurs and casual drinkers. This wine is the result of the careful selection and hand-picking of the grapes – 85% Malbec and 15% Syrah – from the vineyards of Finca Chakana. The vineyards are situated at 980m above sea level and benefit from the unique conditions of the terroir: alluvial soils, sandy, with clay and a gravel subsoil.

The careful vinification of this rosé wine begins with the hand-picking of the grapes in the 2nd and 3rd week of March, which are then transported to the winery in plastic crates of 15 kg each. There, a cold/skin maceration takes place over 24 hours at 8 – 10°C in stainless steel tanks, followed by a fermentation of 16 days with selected yeasts at 14 – 16°C. After filtration, the wine is bottled, ready to delight connoisseurs worldwide.

The Chakana Nuna Rosé is a versatile partner in the kitchen and pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes. It is an excellent companion to tuna and pasta and highlights the flavors of refined Asian dishes. Moreover, it harmonizes wonderfully with green salads, making it an ideal wine for summery garden parties or elegant dinner parties. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 8 – 11°C to bring out its flavors optimally.
