Description
Gió Giovanni 1928
The intense ruby red wine Gió smells pleasantly of cherries and blackberries, mixed with a spicy note of pepper and herbs. Like almost all northern Italian red wines, the Gió also lives from a pleasant, lively acidity in the taste, which is paired with a berry note.
The origin of Gió Giovanni 1928
The wine comes from the Veneto plain, northeast of Venice. The Azienda Vitivinicola Ornella Bellia winery produces modern, fresh wines here, mostly made from local varieties. Dr Gió consists of 60% the local Refosco variety and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Both grape varieties are vinified separately before they are blended after a medium maceration and malolactic fermentation.
Food recommendations for Gió Giovanni 1928
The wine is particularly suitable for grilled meat and is an ideal summer companion for barbecues. Outside of summer, the wine is a good companion for dark stewed meat dishes.
