A family history of viticulture
The Franzosi family has been involved in viticulture for generations, and although the exact origins of this tradition are not known, the first winery in the center of Puegnago was founded in 1938 by Giovanni Franzosi. Giovanni came from Polpenazze sul Garda and was the grandfather of the current junior managers.
In view of the increasing demand for his award-winning wine, Giovanni and his son Bruno decided in 1971 to move the business to Monte Aullo, where it is still based today.
There they established a modern facility with an underground wine cellar that met the needs of the times.
Expansion and innovation at Franzosi
The estate was expanded from the original 8 hectares to its current size of 30 hectares. Bruno Franzosi and his sons, both state-certified farmers, now run the company. While Giovanni is responsible for sales and marketing, Luigi is in charge of the wine cellar. The administration of the business is managed by their daughter Paola as accountant.
Variety and quality
The winery’s 35 hectares of vineyards range in altitude from 100 to 300 meters above sea level and produce around 350,000 kilograms of grapes. There are a further 6 hectares of olive groves with more than 1,300 plants of the Leccino and Casaliva varieties, from which high-quality extra virgin olive oil and PDO extra virgin olive oil (protected designation of origin) are produced.
A heritage of taste
Franzosi wines and olive oils are the result of a long family tradition and a deep commitment to quality and innovation. The estate’s products reflect the unique terroirs and expertise of the Franzosi family and are synonymous with authenticity, diversity and excellent taste.
