Finca Las Nubes Winery: Uniqueness at High Altitude
Finca Las Nubes Winery is more than just a winery. It is a place where passion and science meet to create exceptional wines.
The Beginnings of the Winery
Finca Las Nubes Winery was founded in 2000 by José Luis Mounier. He planted vines on his 3-hectare estate, using not only classic and region-typical vines, but also atypical vines like Tannat.
As a passionate oenologist, he made his profession a hobby and at the same time established his own experimental facility to see how each grape variety develops in this unique place.
The Terroir of the Winery
Finca Las Nubes Winery is located at the foot of the Tierras del Cajón mountain range at an altitude of 1,850m above sea level, high above the region and the city of Cafayate. The very special characteristics of the soil, humidity, and hours of sunshine make this place a special place for growing wine grapes at high altitude.
Why High Altitude Wines from Finca Las Nubes Winery?
The altitude at which Finca Las Nubes Winery is located leads to more intense UV radiation and in combination with the high number of sunny days, the berries develop a thicker skin. This results in an intense and deep color in the red wines, as well as a higher density. The rocky soil produces mineral-rich wines that promise long freshness and a special spritziness in the white wines.
A Family Business
Finca Las Nubes Winery is still family-owned and is run with much love and dedication. The Mounier family has made it their mission to produce wines of the highest quality that reflect the unique terroir of their finca.
A Look into the Future
The winery looks forward to a promising future. With the constant development and improvement of their wine-making techniques, Finca Las Nubes Winery strives to continue producing exceptional wines that delight wine lovers all over the world.
Finca Las Nubes is more than just a winery. It is a place where passion, science, and nature come together to create exceptional wines.
